IS THE DOG GOOD WITH PEOPLE? Ella welcomes everyone and loves a cuddle, has met various adults whilst in foster, has not met young children, although believe she would be fine.

HAS THE DOG BEEN IN CONTACT WITH CHILDREN?

Ella has not met children, however takes everything in her stride and I think would love a family.

COULD LIVE WITH CHILDREN? Yes

IS THE DOG AFRAID OF OR REACTIVE TO WOMEN? MEN? OTHER DOGS? OTHER ANIMALS? HOUSEHOLD ITEMS? THUNDER/LOUD NOISES?

Ella is an exbreeder young mum who before coming into foster had not experienced our world. Ella has embraced everything she's come into contact with, and enjoys life. She's happy with the washing machine, the hair dryer and most noises, bit unsure of the hoover but accepting things as she gets introduced. Its all new to her, but she is learning fast and is very laid back. Everyone at the vets loved her. She's said hello to the postman and was quite happy.

IS THE DOG GOOD WITH ALL OTHER DOGS?

EXPERIENCE WITH OTHER DOGS? Ella has only come into contact with the two females in foster, and a couple of other dogs on walks, as she had not been vaccinated or spayed we didnt venture far. She has been happy meeting those she's come into contact with.

HOW DOES THE DOG NORMALLY INTERACT WITH OTHER DOGS? Ella after an initial greeting, either ignores or wants to play and her puppy traits that she probably never had time to experience are coming out. She is very loving and has a the best nature.

HOW DOES THE DOG REACT TO CATS? Not met any but I think would chase she is interested in everything in the outside world, nose to the ground sniffing, but listens to guidance well.

IS THE DOG RELIABLY HOUSETRAINED? we are 98% there you need to recognise that she wants to go out

CRATE TRAINED? Sleeps in a crate at night, and travels in car in a soft crate

IS THE DOG RELIABLE AT DOORS/GATES OR PRONE TO BOLTING? P

Ella given the chance is out the door to explore, I have baby gates to ensure she is safe, her training needs work as she I presume has never had any. We have started recall on a long line in a secure field.

HOW IS THE DOG ON A LEAD? Ella is happy as out walking with her two foster dog mums and doesnt pull

RECALL: This needs training, Ella had no knowledge prior to foster, we have done a bit

DOES THE DOG HAVE SEPARATION ANXIETY?

Ella is happy to be left with another dog, but if left on her own she barks, Ella's past is she will have been used to being with other dogs and probably never experienced being on her own. As long as she is left with my two she is happy. I do not crate her when left they have the run of the downstairs. Crated when left we tried and she wasn't happy.

IS THE DOG AGGRESSIVE WITH FOOD? TOYS? ANY KIND OF RESOURCE GUARDING?

Ella has no concept of who's bowl is who's so is fed separately in the kitchen, she is using a slow feeder as eats very quickly. She loves her food!

HAS THE DOG EVER BITTEN ANYONE? No

IS THE DOG OBSESSED WITH BALLS? OTHER TOYS? Ella is only just experiencing toys and plays in short bursts and then sleeps, but is not bothered either way.

DOES THE DOG HAVE ANY BAD OR UNUSUAL HABITS? None known

DOG'S FEEDING ROUTINE:

Ella is fed morning around 07.30am and at 18.00pm and is on Active Nature Puppy dried with a bit of forthglade wet (she will come with the rest of the bag!) When Ella came she had just had a litter of pups and was lacking in weight.

WHERE DOES THE DOG SPEND THE DAY? With me upstairs in the home office 3 days a week, or roams downstairs to the other dogs, she is free to wander in the house. Ella likes company and to be with another human or a dog. She has been left up to 2hrs when I have gone to the office 2 days a week, but my mum has come over and spent the majority of the day here whilst I'm out. Ella barks for the first few minutes and then settles. She is a good guard dog.

As we have been toilet training I tend to keep her insight where possible. This is mastered but you need to be aware she needs to go out.

WHERE DOES THE DOG SPEND THE NIGHT?

Crated upstairs in my bedroom, door closed, however we will be leaving the door open now her stitches are healed.

WHERE DOES THE DOG SPEND TIME IF LEFT ALONE IN THE HOUSE?

Ella has been left up to 2hrs and is free to roam downstairs with my other two girls. Ella does not like being on her own, and would need another dog or a person whilst she settles.

DESCRIBE THE DOG'S PREFERED BEDDING AND PLACE TO SLEEP. The sofa! Need I say more, but does have her own bed and crate to sleep at night!

DESCRIBE THE DOG'S CURRENT EXERCISE ROUTINE:

Ella is walked 3 times a day but only for 10 mins as she had a litter of pups prior to coming to me and has recently been spayed.

DESCRIBE THE DOG'S ENERGY LEVELS. Ella will have bursts of energy in 5 - 10 mins and then will crash out and sleep, as time goes on she will build stamina and gain weight, and muscle. Ella would like a younger companion to play with, my two do not play, although she has tried with my sprollie!

NEEDS A LOT OF EXERCISE/TRAINING/STIMULATION? Needs training but is happy to chill

HAPPY TO SLEEP THE DAY AWAY WITH REGULAR EXERCISE. Yes

HOW IS THE DOG WITH GROOMING? DESCRIBE HOW HE COPES WITH BRUSHING, NAILS, BATHING ETC. Ella has let me do most things, and takes everything in her stride, was not impressed with bath first time but second time was calmer. Her coat is short and silky she doesnt need alot of grooming. She has let me trim her paws and remove her matts. Her ears are clean.

DESCRIBE THE DOG'S BEST QUALITIES, THE THINGS THAT MAKE HER SPECIAL. Ella has a beautiful nature, and is very loving she likes nothing better than to cuddle up to you or be with you. She will make someone very happy and be their best friend. I am sad she is going and I thought hard about not keeping her but I feel she needs another younger dog to play with or a family, my pair are too old! She is only 16mths and deserves the best forever home.

You will need to continue her training, and spend time doing this.

DESCRIBE THE DOG'S IDEAL HOME, WHAT KIND OF FAMILY WOULD HE SUIT, AND WHERE WOULD HE BE HAPPIEST. I think Ella would be happy in a home with another younger or playful dog, she is a puppy at heart and probably never had the chance to be a true puppy. She I feel would thrive with a family too, or her own special person.

WOULD YOU LIKE TO TELL US ANYTHING ELSE ABOUT YOUR FOSTER DOG THAT HASN'T BEEN COVERED ABOVE? Ella can be car sick, when travelling, this is something that will need time as she'd never been in a car. I will work on this whilst in foster.
